Authentic 8 Bit synthesizer, based on the NES.
SquareSynth is an 8bit synthesizer, and NES simulator for iOS. Using the instrument tables, and high quality NES-style oscillators, you can create sounds similar to 8bit game consoles, and computers. Must have app for chiptune musicians, or musicians in general. If you want to use 8 bit sounds, live or recorded, look no further! Many presets included.

Out of all the synthesizer apps I have played with, this one is by far the most amazing ever! Sounds really cool, like something you can find on an NES. I definitely recommend this app. It is amazing!
i used other c 64 emulations. And this one is a good one too. angood gui with great sound like on real c64 chips.
Very enjoyable sounds can be had from this app. There is a lot more to this synth than I initially thought.
Audiobus integration of course is a huge plus to any music making app and allows even more manipulation of sounds.

Author obviously has a deep love and understanding of what makes the nes chiptune music sound the way it does. Love the arped pulse width modulation, wavetable, and pitch. Fantastic!!!
Fun to use; lots of parameters to tweak; sounds great.
Happy the developer continues to support this app as its one of my favorites.
The bugs were fixed and it plays nicely, sounds good too, hopefully this can be made universal so it can have a larger area to work with on the ipad. Fun to record too and see the digitized waveform! Also big plus having the wavetable and audiobus feature, get this if you like anything NES
Some bad moments
Good app but its draining my battery. I used it for about 20 minutes. Ive had it installed for the last 24 hours and its at the top of my battery using apps at about 47%. iPhone 7+ using IOS 10.2 .
Very easy to use and surprisingly versatile. Wonderful synth app.
Excellent 8-bit synth for my ipod. Could use more controller over the synthesis, but thats all I can think of. Otherwise Im satisfied.
Best chip synth on iOS yet. Very authentic sound and a good interface.
UPDATE: Seriously, this synth is incredible. Not sure I gave it enough props in my first review. This is a must-have app for musicians. I want to make an entire album just with this thing!!!
I love developers who design apps not only for themselves, but for the consumer. Square Synth is a delight to use, has super sound, and offers many options to tweak and record--unassuming but lots of depth. Best thing? Absolutely zero buyers remorse. I highly recommend!
Love the simplicity and utility of this chiptune type synth. Its actually pretty tweakable under the hood. Would love to see a rudimentary sequencer. Really good job by the dev!
